The Basics
Is psilocybin therapy legal in Colorado?
Yes. As of 2024, Colorado has legalized psilocybin-assisted therapy through a regulated framework.
I'm a licensed clinical facilitator working in partnership with Vivid Minds Wellness, a state-approved healing center. All sessions are legal, safe, and held within Colorado's regulatory system.
You must be 21+ to participate.
How much does it cost?
The full journey (preparation + psilocybin session + integration) typically ranges from $1,300 to $4,900+, depending on the format you choose.
Here's the breakdown:
Preparation (3-6 sessions): $450-1,200 (may be covered by insurance) Psilocybin Session: $400-2,500 (not covered by insurance) Integration (3-6+ sessions): $450-1,200+ (may be covered by insurance)

What if I can't afford it?
I offer sliding scale fees and payment plans when possible. I also offer group sessions, which are significantly more affordable than 1:1 work ($400-$1,200 vs $900-$2,500).
If finances are the only thing standing between you and this work, let's have a conversation. I don't want cost to be a barrier to healing.
Safety & Eligibility
Is psilocybin therapy safe?
When held in the right container—with proper screening, preparation, and integration—psilocybin therapy is considered very safe.
Research shows that psilocybin has a low risk of physical harm and is non-addictive. However, it's not right for everyone, and safety depends on:
Proper medical and psychiatric screening A supportive, trauma-informed facilitator A safe physical environment Thorough preparation and integration
That's why we don't rush this process. Preparation isn't optional—it's essential.
Who should NOT do psilocybin therapy?
Psilocybin may not be safe for you if you have:
A personal or family history of psychosis or schizophrenia Severe cardiovascular conditions (uncontrolled hypertension, heart disease) Active suicidal ideation or recent psychiatric hospitalization Certain psychiatric conditions that could be destabilized by psychedelics
We'll review your medical and psychiatric history during your consultation and preparation sessions to ensure this work is safe for you.
What if I'm on medications?
Some medications can interact with psilocybin or reduce its effectiveness—especially:
SSRIs and other antidepressants MAOIs Antipsychotics Some mood stabilizers
You may need to taper off certain medications before your session. Do not stop taking medication on your own. I work with a psychiatrist who can help guide you through a safe tapering process if needed.
Check your medications using the Psychedelic Interaction Checker—a harm reduction tool developed by psychiatrists and pharmacists ($5-10).
Important: This tool is NOT medical advice. Always consult with a doctor before changing your medications.
We'll review all of your medications during your consultation to ensure safety and determine if any adjustments are needed before your session.
Can I do this if I'm neurodivergent?
Absolutely. In fact, many neurodivergent people find psychedelic therapy especially powerful.
If you have ADHD, autism, are highly sensitive, or process the world differently, this work can help you:
Access emotions and insights that your brain usually bypasses Experience your sensitivity as wisdom, not burden Work through trauma that's been stored somatically Reconnect with parts of yourself you've had to mask or suppress
That said, neurodivergent nervous systems also have unique needs—sensory sensitivities, differences in interoception, trauma from chronic misunderstanding. That's why preparation is tailored to your brain, your body, your nervous system.
I'm neurodivergent myself. I get it. And I'll make sure you feel safe, supported, and seen throughout this process.
What if I have complex trauma or PTSD?
Psilocybin therapy can be deeply healing for trauma survivors—but it requires careful preparation.
Trauma lives in the body, not just the mind. Psychedelics help us access those stored emotional memories in ways talk therapy often can't. But if you're not properly prepared, a psilocybin session can feel overwhelming or retraumatizing.
That's why we spend significant time in preparation:
Building nervous system resilience Strengthening your capacity to stay present with difficult emotions Creating safety in our relationship so you trust me to hold space during the journey Working through trauma before the session so it doesn't hijack the experience
If you have complex trauma, you're not "too broken" for this work. You just need the right support. And that's what I'm here to provide.
The Experience
What will the psilocybin session feel like?
Every journey is different. There's no single "psilocybin experience."
You might feel:
Deep emotional release (grief, joy, anger, relief—sometimes all at once) Profound insights about yourself, your relationships, or your life A sense of connection to yourself, others, nature, or something greater Sensory shifts (colors may seem brighter, sounds more textured, your body more present) Old memories or patterns rising to the surface Awe, beauty, discomfort, challenge, or all of the above
Some people describe it as the most meaningful experience of their lives. Others find it difficult, confusing, or emotionally intense. Both are valid. Both can be healing.
The medicine shows you what you need to see—not always what you want to see. But whatever arises is what needs to be met—and I'll be there with you through all of it.
Will I be in control during the session?
You won't be "out of control" in the way people sometimes fear. You'll be conscious and aware. But you also won't be in your usual thinking, analyzing, managing mode.
Psilocybin loosens the grip of your default mental patterns—which is exactly what allows healing to happen. You'll be in the experience, not directing it.
That's why trust and preparation matter so much. You need to feel safe enough to let go—to stop trying to control the journey and instead allow it to unfold.
I'll be with you the entire time, holding space, offering grounding when needed, and ensuring you feel supported throughout.
What if I have a "bad trip"?
The concept of a "bad trip" is often a misunderstanding of what psychedelics do.
Difficult experiences can happen—grief, fear, old trauma surfacing, discomfort. But "difficult" doesn't mean "bad." Often, the hardest moments are where the most healing happens.
The key is having proper support. With a trained facilitator, a safe environment, and solid preparation, challenging moments can be navigated and integrated—not avoided or resisted, but moved through.
That said, if things get too intense, we have tools:
Grounding techniques (breathwork, touch, movement) Reassurance and presence Adjusting the environment (music, lighting, position) Reminding you: "You're safe. I'm here. This will pass."
You won't be alone in it. That's what makes this work different from unsupported psychedelic use.
How long does the session last?
Full-dose sessions: 6-8 hours
Low-dose sessions: 2-3 hours
You'll stay at the healing center for the entire duration, with me present the whole time. Afterward, you'll need someone to drive you home (you will NOT be able to drive yourself).
Plan to rest for the remainder of the day. Your nervous system will need time to integrate.
Logistics
Where does the psilocybin session happen?
Colorado law requires that psilocybin sessions take place at a licensed healing center.
Your session will be held at Vivid Minds Wellness, a state-approved facility. Preparation and integration sessions happen at my office in Lakewood, CO, or virtually.
Can I do this virtually?
Preparation and integration can happen virtually. The psilocybin session itself must be in-person at the healing center in Colorado (state law).
What if I live out of state?
You can absolutely work with me if you don't live in Colorado, but there are a few extra steps:
You'll need to travel to Colorado for the psilocybin session Preparation can happen virtually before you arrive You'll need at least one in-person prep session in Colorado before your psilocybin session Post-session integration can happen virtually, but ongoing work would be in a coaching capacity (not licensed therapy) if you're not a Colorado resident We'll coordinate with your home-state therapist if you have one
It's doable—but requires planning. Let's talk through logistics in your consultation.
Do I need to already be in therapy with you?
No. You can begin this work even if we've never worked together before.
That said, if you're already a client at Clearing Clouds Therapy, we can absolutely explore whether psychedelic therapy is a good next step for you. The foundation we've already built in traditional therapy can be a powerful starting point for preparation.
How This Is Different
How is this different from traditional talk therapy?
Traditional therapy works through the thinking mind—insight, patterns, cognitive reframing, behavioral change.
Psychedelic therapy works through the body and subconscious—accessing emotions, memories, and patterns that your conscious mind often can't reach.
Think of it this way:
Talk therapy helps you understand your story Psychedelic therapy helps you feel and release what's been stored in your body
Both are valuable. Often, they work best together. That's why preparation and integration are so important—they help you make sense of what the medicine reveals.
How is this different from ceremony or working with a shaman?
Great question—and an important distinction.
Wild Kin offers clinical psychedelic therapy, not ceremony.
Here's what that means:
Clinical Therapy (what I offer): Licensed, regulated, legal framework Trauma-informed preparation & integration Contemporary therapeutic model Partnership with licensed healing center
Ceremony (what I don't offer): Traditional/spiritual practice Ritual, prayer, cultural context Indigenous or lineage-based traditions Often held in nature or sacred spaces
I'm trained as a therapist and clinical facilitator—not a shamanic practitioner or Indigenous medicine keeper. I am exploring my own ancestral connections to ceremony, but that's ongoing personal work, not the framework I'm offering here.
I hold deep respect for the ceremonial roots of this medicine. But what I offer is modern, medicalized, trauma-informed psychedelic therapy.
If you're looking for traditional ceremony, I'm happy to help you find that. If you're looking for clinically held, neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed psychedelic therapy—that's what I do.
Making the Decision
How do I know if I'm ready?
There's no perfect checklist. But here are some signs you might be ready:
You've done some inner work already (therapy, self-reflection, healing practices) You feel stuck in patterns talk therapy alone hasn't shifted You're willing to face difficult emotions, not just chase transcendence You're committed to the full process (prep + session + integration) You have support in your life outside of therapy You feel called to this work—even if you're also nervous about it
If you're unsure, that's okay. Let's talk. I can help you figure out if this is the right timing for you.
What if I'm nervous?
That's completely normal. This is big work.
Nervousness isn't a sign you're not ready—it's a sign you're taking this seriously. And that's actually a good thing.
