How We Work Together

Psychedelic-assisted therapy isn't a single session—it's a journey with three essential phases.

Preparation lays the foundation. The psilocybin experience opens the door. Integration makes the transformation last.

The Three Phases of Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy

Phase 1: Preparation

Building the Foundation Before the Medicine

What happens in preparation:

This is where we create safety—in your nervous system, in our relationship, and in the container we're building for your journey.

This isn't just logistics. It's the deep work that ensures you're ready to meet whatever arises—mentally, emotionally, somatically, and spiritually.

In our preparation sessions, we'll:

Build trust and rapport between us—because you need to feel safe with me before we enter expanded states together

Explore your intentions for the journey—what you're seeking, what you're releasing, what you're opening to

Work through trauma or patterns that might surface during the session—so they don't hijack the experience

Strengthen your nervous system capacity through somatic practices, breathwork, and grounding techniques—so you can stay present when things get intense

Design your session environment based on your sensory needs—lighting, sound, temperature, textures, supports (yes, weighted blankets are an option)

Address medical and psychiatric considerations—reviewing medications, health history, and any contraindications

Prepare for integration—so you know what to expect after the session and how to navigate re-entry into daily life

How many sessions: 3-6 preparation sessions (depending on your needs and readiness)

Format: In-person (Lakewood, CO) or virtual

Duration: 50-60 minutes each

Cost: $150-200/session (I accept insurance for psychotherapy services. Many clients use therapy to prepare for or integrate psychedelic experiences. Coverage depends on your plan and treatment goals. Contact your insurance to verify benefits.)

Phase 2: The Psilocybin Journey

Held Space for Deep Transformation

What happens during the session:

This is where the medicine works.

Your psilocybin session takes place at Vivid Minds Wellness, a state-licensed healing center in Colorado. I'll be with you the entire time—not to guide or direct your experience, but to hold space, offer grounding when needed, and ensure you feel safe throughout the journey.

Unlike traditional talk therapy where we work through conversation, a psilocybin session happens beyond words. You'll be moving through internal landscapes—emotions, memories, sensations, insights—that your conscious mind doesn't always have access to.

The medicine bypasses your thinking brain and speaks directly to your body, your subconscious, and the parts of you that have been waiting to be heard.

You might experience:

  • Deep emotional release (grief, joy, anger, relief)

  • Profound insights about yourself, your relationships, or your life

  • A sense of connection—to yourself, to others, to something greater

  • Sensory shifts (colors, sounds, textures may feel amplified or altered)

  • Old memories or patterns rising to the surface

  • Moments of awe, beauty, discomfort, or challenge (sometimes all in the same session)

Every journey is different. There's no "right" experience. Whatever arises is what needs to be met—and I'll be there with you through all of it.

Session options:

Full-Dose Sessions

Duration: 6-8 hours
Experience level: Deep, immersive, transformational
Best for: Those ready to go all the way in

Full-dose sessions offer the most profound access to expanded states. This is the deep dive—the kind of journey that can shift your entire relationship to yourself, your trauma, and your life.

It's not always comfortable. But it's powerful.

Low-Dose Sessions

Duration: 2-3 hours
Experience level: Gentler, more accessible, still meaningful
Best for: First-timers, those building trust with the medicine, or anyone seeking a softer entry point

Low-dose sessions still offer emotional clarity, insight, and healing—just without the full intensity of a deep immersion. Many people start here before moving to full-dose work.

1:1 Sessions

Format: Just you and me
Best for: Those who need dedicated attention, have complex trauma, or prefer private space

In a 1:1 session, my full focus is on you. We create a completely personalized environment tailored to your nervous system, and you have the freedom to move, speak, or stay silent as the journey unfolds.

Small Group Sessions

Format: Up to 8 participants, 2 facilitators (me + a co-facilitator)
Best for: Those seeking communal healing, relational repair, or a more affordable option

There's something deeply powerful about healing in the presence of others. If your trauma has relational roots—feeling unseen, unsafe, or disconnected from community—group work can offer a level of repair that individual sessions sometimes can't.

You won't be asked to perform or share unless you want to. But knowing you're not alone in the room—that others are also doing their own deep work—can be profoundly grounding.

Group sessions are also more financially accessible, making this work available to more people.

Session location:
All psilocybin sessions take place at Vivid Minds Wellness, a licensed healing center in Colorado (required by state law).

Cost:

  • 1:1 Full-Dose Session: $1,800-2,500 (includes facilitation + healing center fee)

  • 1:1 Low-Dose Session: $900-1,200

  • Group Full-Dose Session: $800-1,200 per person

  • Group Low-Dose Session: $400-600 per person

Note: Psilocybin sessions themselves are NOT covered by insurance. However, preparation and integration therapy may be.

Phase 3: Integration

Making the Transformation Last

What happens in integration:

The psilocybin session can crack you open. Integration is what helps you put the pieces back together—in a new way.

This is where insight becomes embodied change. Where profound realizations get rooted into your daily life. Where the magic doesn't just fade—it grows.

Without integration, benefits often diminish within six months. With it, studies show positive effects can last five years or more.

In our integration sessions, we'll:

Process what came up during the journey—without rushing to "make sense" of it or force it into neat narratives

Translate insights into action—so the shifts you experienced don't just live in your memory, but show up in your relationships, choices, and sense of self

Navigate the challenges of re-entry—because coming back to "normal life" after a profound experience can feel disorienting, isolating, or even painful

Work somatically to help your body integrate what your mind experienced—through breathwork, movement, grounding practices, or simply sitting with what's present

Address what's arising—new emotions, old patterns resurfacing, grief, joy, confusion, clarity—all of it is welcome here

How many sessions: At minimum, 3-6 integration sessions in the weeks/months following your journey. Some people continue longer-term integration work as part of ongoing therapy.

Format: In-person (Lakewood, CO) or virtual

Duration: 50-60 minutes each

Cost: $150-200/session (insurance may cover integration as traditional therapy)

Total Investment

Here's what the full journey typically looks like:

Preparation 3-6 sessions $450-1,200 (often insurance-covered)

Psilocybin Session 1 session $400-2,500 (depending on format)

Integration 3-6+ sessions $450-1,200+ (often insurance-covered)

Total estimated investment: $1,300-$4,900+

This is a significant investment—financially, emotionally, and energetically. And I want to be transparent about that.

This work isn't a quick fix. It's a deep, intentional process that requires commitment. But for many people, it's the most transformative work they've ever done.

Insurance & Payment

What insurance covers:

  • Preparation and integration therapy sessions (billed as traditional therapy)

  • I'm in-network with: Cigna, Aetna, Anthem, Optum, United Healthcare

  • What insurance may cover: Psychotherapy sessions that address mental health treatment goals (trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation). Many clients use these sessions to prepare for or integrate psychedelic experiences. Coverage depends on your plan and treatment goals.

I recommend contacting your insurance directly to verify benefits before starting services.

What insurance does NOT cover:

  • The psilocybin session itself (healing center fees + facilitation)

  • This must be paid out-of-pocket

Payment plans:
I offer sliding scale and payment plans on a case-by-case basis. If cost is a barrier, let's talk. I don't want finances to be the only thing standing between you and healing.

Superbills available for out-of-network reimbursement.

Out-of-State Clients

You can work with me if you don't live in Colorado, but there are a few extra steps:

You'll need to travel to Colorado for the psilocybin session itself (state law requires it to happen at a licensed healing center here)

Preparation can happen virtually before you arrive

You'll need at least one in-person prep session in Colorado before your psilocybin session

Post-session integration can happen virtually, but I can only provide ongoing therapy in a coaching capacity (not as licensed therapy) if you're not a Colorado resident

We'll coordinate with your home-state therapist if you have one, to ensure continuity of care

It's doable—but requires planning. Let's talk through logistics in your consultation so you know exactly what to expect.

Medical & Psychiatric Eligibility

Not everyone is a good candidate for psilocybin therapy—and that's okay.

You may not be eligible if you have:

  • A personal or family history of psychosis or schizophrenia

  • Severe cardiovascular conditions

  • Certain psychiatric conditions that could be destabilized by psychedelics

  • Active suicidal ideation or recent psychiatric hospitalization

Medication interactions:
Some medications (especially SSRIs, MAOIs, and other psychiatric meds) can interfere with psilocybin or require tapering before a session.

👉 Check your medications using the Psychedelic Interaction Checker (harm reduction tool, $5-10)

⚠️ Important: This tool is NOT a substitute for medical advice. If you need to taper off meds, I work with a psychiatrist who can guide you safely through that process.

We'll review all of this during your consultation and preparation sessions to ensure this work is safe for you.
